Rough week...

This is what Matthew looks like today- poor baby!

It has been a rough week at the Fischer house! On Tuesday, Matthew had his adenoids taken out. For the most part, the recovery has been non-existent. But, sleeping has been AWFUL. I guess he has so much swelling in his nose that he can't breathe well, so at night he wakes up frequently, screaming and freaking out. He is also snoring and making horrible sounds in his sleep. They say the swelling can take up to 2 weeks to go down- yuck! On Thursday, Timmy started getting really fussy. The week before he had an ear infection, and I thought his ear didn't clear up and it was still that. After a day of crying and a night of no sleep, I took him to the doctor. He had a yucky virus... a red, swollen throat with puss all over it. Yuck!!!! He had a low fever, and he cried ALL DAY LONG! Rick said he went a stretch of about 2 hours without crying- but the rest of the day was not so good. He wouldn't eat, didn't sleep well, it was awful! The next day he was better, still not 100%, but today (Monday) he is basically completely normal. On Saturday his legs and face broke out in a bumpy rash. Hmmm, not sure if that is from the virus or from the amoxicillin he just finished up. So, this morning Matthew wakes up and doesn't want to eat. Interesting- that kid eats all day long. He said he just wants water. Now, he is laying on the couch with a fever, crying and totally miserable. And, he still has his stuffy nose from surgery, so he can't breathe through his nose. I guess he has the virus now. So, another long day at the Fischer house. Let's hope Andrew doesn't get it or ME. We all know there is no one to take care of Mama when she gets sick! I am hoping this week brings SLEEP- after Timmy's virus and Matthew's surgery, we haven't had much of that in the last 5 days. If you see me out in a public, and I look like a train wreck, you will know why!!!!!!

Tutus for Emma Grace

We are still fundraising for Emma. For the most part, it is going well. We have had a few bad shows, but overall we have had a lot of success. We might do as many as 3 shows in May- not sure yet. We have met a lot of people, several who have already adopted. I met one lady who adopted her daughter from Korea 22 years ago and she said it was the most wonderful thing she has ever done. After talking with her, she came back later and brought me a book. It was "Why I chose you" 100 reasons why people adopt. I loved it! And so sweet of her to think of me and to go buy that book! Dinosaur Alive at the Zoo

I took the boys to the Zoo the other day and they saw the signs for the Dinosaur exhibit and just HAD to see it. It was $4/person to get in, so I was ticked- but the boys LOVED it! It takes about 10 minutes to walk through (we did it twice- hello, $4 a person we aren't leaving after one time!) and both times the boys just thought it was the coolest thing ever. It will be at the Zoo for several more weeks and I just know they are going to want to do it every time. I told them this is the ONLY time we will do it, but I have a feeling it will be the cause of a huge tantrum the next time we go to the Zoo. On a side note, I survived the zoo with all three boys by myself, and I just about died pushing the stroller with all 3 kids up the hill. The whole time I kept thinking, "how am I going to do this when Emma is here!"

Andrew loved all of the dinosaurs and asked so many questions about them.

At the end, they could dig for bones. Matthew got so excited, stood up and yelled "Mom, I just found a bone!" It was so funny, because they are all pretty much in view before "digging".

One of my finest mothering moments

Every once in awhile my kids do something that make me say, "oh,crap... they learned that from me!" The other day I was cleaning the basement and I noticed that all of the pieces to my breast pump were out. I didn't think anything of it, I cleaned it up and put it up. Then, today I was on the computer and I look over to see Matthew doing THIS! Now it all makes sense!!!!!!! I had my camera right there and starting snapping away- and to think this is probably not the first time he has played with it....agh!!!!!!! He had the pump lined up in the right spot, AND he even pulled his shirt down to cover it like I used to. Then I heard him say "my mommy doesn't make milk anymore." It has been almost 3 months since I have done that and he didn't forget a single thing about how that pumped worked. Be careful little eyes what you see. Enjoy the pictures!

I put some shoes on Timmy- he didn't know what to think. He kept playing with them and looking at them trying to figure out what was on his feet!

Stomp rocket

The boys got a stomp rocket for Christmas and we just got it out of the box. Of course they love it.... and so do all the kids in the neighborhood. Great fun for wild boys, highly recommend it!!!!

When you jump on it, the foam rockets go flying in the air. They think it is soooo cool!
