We had Christmas pictures taken yesterday, December 11, of our family and the boys. We got some good shots, but boy was it hard work! Andrew was, as usual, incredibly wild and would not sit still or cooperate. Now, in all of these pictures he looks like a perfect angel and appears to be cooperative. DON'T LET THIS FOOL YOU!!!!!! He was doing somersaults, jumping up and down, throwing balls, hugging and sitting on Matthew, you name it... he did it. I was sweating so bad trying to keep up with him. Now, as most of you know... Matthew is always smiling, however, in most of these pictures he looks completely stunned and confused. That is because Andrew was performing his gymnastics routine and Matthew was completely shocked as to what was going on with his brother. Oh, the joys of having little kids!!!!!! Anyways, they are cute and I am happy that my boys look like pleasant, well behaved children.

Andrew and Matthew
(Andrew looks like he is sitting so nicely, doesn't it?
Well, he had just finished a somersault and was ready to
jump up again-- I laugh everytime I see this because
it reminds me of what a wild man he was but yet he looks like an angel!!!)
The ONLY picture we got of Andrew by himself.....

Sweet Matthew.....
Well, that's it.... I have decided not to even try to bring Andrew to Matthew's 9 month pictures. It is too much work! Hopefully by 3 Andrew will have calmed down enough to get some stress-free pictures :) Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Matthew

Sooo... Matthew will be 6 months old tomorrow :) What big changes these past 6 months have brought us! Matthew is still a wonderful, happy baby. He now sits up, rolls both ways, and his latest... he is starting to army crawl! He pushes off his legs and pulls with his arms to get what he wants. His favorite toy ...... paper!!!! Rick had the newspaper in a pile yesterday, and Matthew had it all over the living room by the time he was finished with it. Matthew is also turning into a wild man in his sleep! I went in to check on him today during nap and his feet were hanging out of the crib and he was laying horizontal in the crib :) Matthew has 2 bottom teeth and he is working on the ones up top! Matthew seems to be a lot more active than Andrew was at this age, so that scares me for the future. Andrew is a wild man now, so I can only imagine how Matthew will be! Here are some pictures from Sears today. We are going to get more pictures done tomorrow for Christmas. I will post more tomorrow. I didn't buy all of these poses, but thought they were cute enough to share!

Update on Matthew

Matthew is a wonderful baby! We have enjoyed him so much and it is fun to watch him grow and change so fast! This past week has brought big changes! The day after Thanksgiving, Matthew had his first tooth break through the skin. I am sure there will be another one to quickly follow! On November 15, he rolled from his tummy to his back for the first time. He has been rolling from back to tummy since 4 months. Now, he rolls all over the place on the floor, turns in circles and wiggles around to get what he wants. He likes to play with Andrew's toys and Andrew gets a little upset when Matthew takes something he is playing with! Matthew is also pushing up on all 4's and rocking.... he is going to be a busy boy! I am trying to get the rolling and wiggling on video, but you know how that goes! Every time I turn the camera on he won't do it and as soon as I turn it off he turns into a wild man! In the last few days he has really gotten better at sitting up! He still falls to the side or back, so I can't leave him, but he is much better at supporting his back! We have 6 month pictures on Dec. 11 so I think he will be pretty good at sitting by that time! We have 2 weeks to practice. I took Matthew to the doctor today and he is 23 pounds 14 ounces. WOW! What a big (but cute) baby!!!!

Train

The day after Thanksgiving we got a great deal on a train for our Christmas tree. Andrew loves trains, so we knew it would be a big hit... but we had no idea he would be obsessed over it! When we first got it out of the package, he stared at it going around the track over and over again. He gets really close and looks at each part as it goes by. He played with it all day long and even took the engine to sleep with him. It is going to be hard to put this away when the holidays are over. He will be so upset to see it go! Even Matthew likes to stare at it and try to hit the cars as they go by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

On Thanksgiving Day we went to Rick's family's house in Northern Kentucky. The boys had fun seeing their extended family. Here is our family picture from Thanksgiving day as well as a picture of Matthew on his first Thanksgiving!

Big Boy Bathtub!

Matthew has graduated from the way-t00-small infant tub to a big boy tub. This is a blow-up duck that fits in the bathtub. That way, Matthew can sit up and play and I don't have to worry about him sliding around. It is so much better than those silly bath seats... especially when your baby has big thighs to squeeze into the seat!!!! Now, bathtime can finally start to be fun again!

Andrew and Matthew

The boys are still doing great! Matthew hasn't been sleeping well because of a cold, but hopefully that will soon be passing! We are still waiting for those teeth to pop through! He isn't eating solids well these days, but I am hoping that is because of the teeth, and not because I have another non-eater on my hands! Andrew is still active and energetic! He is potty trained although we still have the occassional "oops!" He loves to play outside and ride his bike around the neighborhood.

Extreme Makeover--Home Edition

I had to get a picture of the famous blue shirts!
The TV show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition is in town. They tore down the old house on Friday morning. We went on Saturday night and this is how much they had completed,
pretty impressive!

This was the house on Sunday night.... WOW!

I have been twice to see the house but didn't catch any glimpses of Ty :(

Andrew and Matthew are starting to become great friends! It was definitely an adjustment for Andrew, but now he loves to hug and kiss his brother. He also likes to bring him toys and play peek-a-boo!
