Today I am exactly 30 weeks pregnant. 8 more weeks until my surgery, 7 more weeks until I am "full term". But who's counting? Here are some pictures of my belly at 30 weeks as well as pictures of Timothy. We had a 3/D ultrasound today just for fun. No official measurements, but he appears to be fattening up! His u/s pic is identical to Matthew! Looks like we will have 3 handsome boys that all get their good looks from mommy :) ha, ha!

Family Updates
Well, summer is officially over and we are all adjusting to new schedules. Andrew is back in school and very happy. I am also very happy. I love my quiet afternoons at home. Andrew gets on the bus at 11:30 and Matthew takes a nap after lunch... so I have a nice, peaceful home for at least 2 hours everyday!
I had no plans to work this school year, but I had a school call me that had some extra money to be spent by the end of September. So, I am lucky enough to get to work through the end of September. I work 3 days a week in the morning and the boys go to my friend's house. They love going to see Christy and her girls. They are so comfortable there and Christy knows them really well, too. Everything worked out perfectly and we are so thankful for that. Once this job is over, it will be October and then I can patiently wait for Timothy's arrival.
We are on our second attempt with Matthew and the big boy bed. The first time was pretty easy, and it lasted for a good month. But, suddenly he refused to sleep in the bed and started getting up and walking around in the middle of the night. It got to the point we could hardly get him to lay down in there, so he was back in the crib. We bought him a really cool fire engine bed that is the same size as a crib and has the same feel as a crib. Hopefully this will do the trick.... because baby brother needs that bed in 8 weeks! Other than that, Matthew is doing great! He is such a big boy. Rick and I were talking the other day about how much more mature and advanced Matthew is compared to Andrew at that age. He is so funny and so smart. I really can't think of an easier kid to raise. We were definitely lucky with that little boy!!!
Andrew started baseball again for the fall and LOVES it. Every day he asks me "how many more days until baseball?" I am glad he is happy. I really think that baseball has given him more confidence. He is loving school and loves to play with his best friend Lucy. As a matter of fact, Andrew informed me the other day that when he grows up... "me and Lucy are going to marry ourselves." They really have the sweetest friendship. Andrew is getting into the Magic Treehouse books and loves to read chapters every night. He is also obsessed with connect the dot books and mazes. He loves to count, and we are slowly working our way to 100. He is such a smart kid, we are very lucky!
Timothy is still cooking. It looks like there is a basketball in my stomach. I have never carried a baby like this before. Still not terribly big (in comparison to the others...) but starting to get uncomfortable because of how he is positioned all up front. We have an ultrasound in a few days so I am curious to see if he is fattening up. I keep having dreams that "he" is a "she." I have had several people ask me if I am SURE it is a boy because of the way I am carrying.... yes, people... I am CERTAIN! There is no mistaking those little boys!
We are still waiting on Emma Grace. All our documents are at the Chinese Embassy getting sealed for the 5th time (notarized, county clerk seal, state seal, department of state seal.....blah, blah, blah) We are patiently waiting for the home study report which should be finalized early next week. After that, we have to get our CIS approval and our paperwork is off to China. It is frustrating that we are waiting on 2 documents that are completely out of our control. The wait for a baby has increased to 40 months. There hasn't been much movement with the referrals, so we are expecting it to get even longer. Gosh, Timothy will be Andrew's age when she comes and he isn't even born yet. That is crazy to think about!!!!
The other day, Andrew and I bought Timothy a pumpkin onesie to wear on Halloween. Andrew got REALLY UPSET because I did not by Emma Grace one. I tried to explain to him that she will not be here for a long time, but he told me to save it for her. It is so hard to make him understand just how long we have to wait! I told Andrew that his friend Jacob is having a baby sister and he said, "well, I get a baby sister too." Sometimes I think he wants Emma Grace to be a part of our family more than I do... and that is saying a lot :)
That is all on the Fischer updates. Everyone is happy and healthy. What more can we ask for!!!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL
It is that time of year again... back in school. We decided to give Andrew a little more independence this year and we put him on the school bus. There was nothing but smiles this morning when he got on. We have come a loooooong way since this little guy turned 3. This time last year he was freaking out about being at school and scared to death, this year he probably asked me 5000 times when school was going to start. Mommy has come a long way, too. This time last year I was so worried that going to school everyday for 3.5 hours was too much for him. This year I am wishing he could be there all day because I know he loves it and NEEDS it. Here are some pictures from his first day!
Mr. Jerry (the bus attendant) comes out to meet the kids and teaches them how to look both ways before crossing the street to get on the bus.
Here comes Andrew (with another little guy from our neighborhood)
The big moment... his first time on a bus without mom and dad!
Nothing but smiles. My baby is all grown up!!!

The Purpose Driven Life
Below you will find some articles by Rick Warren. My mom sent them to me soon after we made the decision to adopt Emma. We could very much relate to the message in these articles, so I wanted to post them. I am going to print them out and put them in her scrapbook, which we have already started making.... (many years before she is even conceived!) For those that don't know, I guess I should clarify that Emma Grace is the little girl we are adopting from China. The wait has now increased to 40 months. Enjoy the articles!

Vietnam Orphanage
Rick and I have a wonderful adoption agency, Families Thru International Adoption (www.ftia.org). Vietnam is one of the countries they service, but like many others, there is legal "stuff" going on that is preventing adoptions from taking place at this time. There are currently 23 families from our agency that received referrals for children LAST YEAR from an orphanage in Vietnam, but due to the legal crap, they won't let the kids leave the orphanage. Many of these kids are closing in on 2 years, and are not growing or developing properly because their main diet consists of rice porridge and they have little stimulation. Meanwhile, their families in the US are getting picture updates of their children and are waiting helplessly for some type of decision to be made in Vietnam.
They started a blog to make people aware of the situation and to document their mission efforts. These families are arranging trips to Vietnam in 3 to 6 week intervals, to hold and love their children, buy them fresh foods from the market, bring them toys, and play with them! It is a remarkable story, very touching. They are asking for donations to help pay for food, plane tickets and any other travel expenses. Rick and I donated all of our sky miles in hopes that at least one parent can make it to their child. On their blog, they have a list of prayer requests as well. There are currently 2 adoptive parents there now with the children. Please take the time to read their story!

3 Little Pigs
Andrew and Matthew really enjoy the book, The 3 Little Pigs. After you read it, you have to act it out. Well, Matthew loves to play the wolf, so here is a short clip of Matthew the Wolf trying to get Rick the pig. The lighting is bad at first, but it gets better.
