We had a great Christmas, but I am not sad to see this season pass! I love the new year, because that means spring is right around the corner. I do not like cold weather (or snow- yuck!) so I am never sad to see December slip away.
The older boys loved Christmas. They talked about it for months, and got most of what they wanted. (It wasn't much, we don't go overboard around here!) The babies had no clue. Just another day with a lot more paper. We went to church on Christmas Eve and then out to eat with my parents and brother. Christmas morning was at home and that afternoon we headed to my parent's house. The day after Christmas is spent in Northern KY with the Fischer family, so we had a busy few days!
The older boys got some knight armor, light sabers and a DS for each of them. They are in heaven. I have to limit time on the DS because they are going to be cross eyed from staring at it so long! The little ones didn't get much, but they could care less. Timmy did get a race track from my parents and he has enjoyed that quite a bit.
Tomorrow morning life will change as we know it. I am back to work, kids are back to school and Emma starts the babysitter for the first time. She is going to have a rough few days. I am hoping for no snow days so that she will get used to this routine FAST. She will be fine once she figures out mommy is coming back.
Now that it is January, we have spring baseball to look forward to. Matthew misses the cut-off by 5 weeks, so we have asked for permission to let him play anyways. We told them he wasn't your typical 3, almost 4 year old. He is probably bigger than most of the 4 year olds that play. We refuse to do YMCA sports again, so it is little league or bust. We will see what they say. In addition to baseball, my kids WILL learn how to swim before the pool opens- so swim lessons are on my radar.
Here are a few pictures.
