My baby is 3!!!!!

On June 11, Matthew celebrated his 3rd birthday. I can't believe it has already been 3 years. From the moment this child was born, he has been easy. It was the easiest birth ever- no stress before surgery, during, or after. In the hospital I couldn't believe how laid back and calm he was- he never cried! (keep in mind what we went through the first time around with you-know-who!) He has been the happiest, sweetest little boy that you could ever imagine. He melts my heart he is so darn sweet. Everyone that meets Matthew (or may-may as we all know him...) falls in love with him. He has such a gentle, good-natured personality. I could go on forever about how sweet and loving this little guy is. He has been very easy to raise (so far, anyways!) Here is my list of top things I LOVE about May-May. These are in no special order.

1. He still loves his blue blankets, he calls them "blankeys". He will not go to sleep without them. If he gets really upset or hurt, he will immediately ask for them. I love that he is so rough and tough when he plays, but at the end of the day... he can't sleep without his beloved blue blankeys.
2. He tells me everyday that I am his best friend. Sometimes he will just walk up to me, hug my leg and say "ah, I love you mommy" or "we're best friends." I love it.
3. He always tells me "you're cute". I say this to him all the time, so I guess he feels like he should say it to me, too :)
4. When Andrew is mean to him or hurts his feelings, he will cross his arms over his chest and say "I don't want to be your friend anymore" (in his poutiest voice) or he will say "I am so mad at you, Andrew!"
5. He calls his fingernails "toenails." I finally had to correct this one, but I waited a long time. I just thought it was so darn cute when he came up to me, held out his finger and said "will you cut my toenail for me." Occasionally, he will still call them toenails and it makes me smile every time!
6. The kid loves to eat. His favorite foods are balogna, yogurt, applesauce, grapes, white cookies (as he calls sugar cookies), and chips. He does NOT like chocolate! He will walk in the kitchen, open the pantry or fridge and say "I un-gee" which is "I'm Hungry". I hear it about 50 times a day because the kid is never full!
7. Water is his favorite drink and he will drink out of any cup he finds laying around the house.
8. When he thinks something is really cool, he says "That's awesome!" But he can't make the "th" sound or the "s" sound so it sounds like "dats aw-wom"
9. When I tell him I love him, he says "do you know what I love???? YOU!" It melts my heart every time.
10. Matthew loves kids- the more the merrier when it comes to Matthew.
11. He loves for his mommy to hold him. When I pick him up, he plays with my hair. (although this is getting less and less, sniff, sniff)
12. Matthew calls his butt a booty 100% of the time.
13. He destroys/dumps out everything he plays with. I can't say I really love this, but it is definitely a Matthew trait!
14. He copies everything Andrew does, good and bad. Most of the time, he has no idea why he is saying or doing it which makes it even funnier.
15. He is stubborn! If I tell him to do something and he doesn't listen, I normally take something away. I might say "clean up your toys, or you will sit in time out." And his response would be "I want to sit in time out." Or, we take books away before bed if they are really rotten (I know this sounds evil, but it is the only thing that works because they love it so much...). So, I might say "stop it right now or you will lose books." To which Matthew would respond "I don't want books." He does it with everything.... if I say the book is too long to read he will say "I like too long things." You get the picture.
16. He does not like to see me cry or act upset at all.
17. He has the most gentle heart and the sweetest personality.
18. He loves cars, all types of cars, and has one in his hands at any given point during the day. You ask him what he wants for Christmas or birthdays and he would say "Cars". He loves to play with them, and he loves to watch them when we drive. He is a vehicle-loving kind of guy!

Matthew in my belly just minutes before delivering him via c-section. I was huge!

Just out of my belly- weighing in at 10 lbs 1 oz at 38 weeks. Holy Cow!

On his first birthday...

On his second birthday...
