Making Valentines

The other day I got this brilliant idea that I would have Andrew make all of the valentine's day cards for his friends at school. They are having a party and instead of buying the box of pre-made cards, we decided to get a little crafty. The boys had a great time, but I think I will be cleaning up glitter for the rest of my life... it was everywhere! But, when it was all over, Andrew created 17 very beautiful and personal cards for his classmates, Matthew made 4 cards, and Andrew made a few others for some special people in his life. We still have more family that we will make cards for, but I need a few days to recover from all the gittery fun. Rick very politely reminded me today, "we do have markers for stuff like that!" Besides the mess, and the fact that they both started eating the glitter because they thought they were sprinkles... it was a lot of fun! Here are pictures of some of my favorite valentines they made.....

I didn't make these with Matthew, he made them at his babysitter's house. My friend, Christy, is so amazing with kids! She always takes time to make crafts with them. Matthew loves her so much and we are so thankful for her friendship!!!!! The red and silver one is for Rick because he loves UL, the blue and silver one is for me for UK, and the mixed one is for Andrew. She said Matthew was such a mess that she had to put him in the bathtub when they were finished. I completely understand!

These are the ones Matthew made with me, not near as fancy as the ones with Christy! She is a little more patient than me :) That is why we love her so much!
These are Andrew's.... the one on the top left is for Jacob. The top and bottom right are for Mamaw and Papaw and the bottom left is for Grandma and Grandpa. He was very specific when deciding who these went to!
The top left is for his one true love, Lucy (notice that it is just a heart!) The top right is for another girlfriend, Kailyn. Bottom left is for me and Rick and Matthew gets the sad face. Andrew said "Matthew gets the sad face because he is sad." Huh???? Whatever. Sometimes I just don't ask.
Here is andrew working on his masterpiece....
And here is Matthew.... I love his expression.... "you mean I can't eat any of this stuff????"
